Even if the space you are using is white, blank or empty, it’s so crucial to making everything else look good. There doesn’t need to be a large amount of it to be effective. The space in between letters is very small. The extra space in a photo where the subject is intentionally off center may seem huge but with purpose, is very effective.

Balancing space can be a huge difference-maker in whether or not everything else gets the attention it needs.

How does each element of the design relate to each other? How do they relate to the space that holds nothing? This is where the use of space thrives and creates a break for the person viewing it.
